World Premiere, Opening Night
Thursday, October 18, 2012
The Contemporary Jewish Museum

In this world-premiere, renowned European actors Dominique Frot (Sarah’s Key) and Alexander Muheim bring to life the legendary correspondence between two great twentieth-century poets, Paul Celan and Ingeborg Bachmann. A tragic, yet profound love story conducted across the European continent between 1948 and 1961. The two attempted to come to terms with the horrors of war and to understand how poetry is possible after Auschwitz.

Directed by Hans Peter Cloos and adapted from  Correspondence: Ingeborg Bachmann & Paul Celan.
